We are committed to helping young farmers have a career in agriculture. We employ 5-6 people year round on the farm. We also grow greens, micros, and herbs year round. We are solar powered and committed to renewable energy.
— Bailey Samp, Co-Owner

Lakeview Hill Farm is a certified organic produce farm specializing in hoophouse and greenhouse production.  The farm is located in Traverse City on the Leelanau Peninsula, situated on 58 acres with a gorgeous hill top view of Lake Leelanau and the surrounding country side. We grow a variety of vegetables with a focus on greenhouse heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, salad greens, microgreens, and cut flowers. We host an Annual Plant Sale every year in mid-May with a wide variety of organic transplants, natives, and gardening supplies.

We are committed to utilizing renewable energy on all aspects of the farm. With agriculture being one of the largest consumers of fossil fuels, we believe it is extremely important to lead the way with practices that sustain the environment and are financially beneficial to the business. The farm is 75% solar powered. The homestead and greenhouses on the farm are heated by a high efficiency gasification wood boiler system with wood collected from the farm. These energy systems allow us to extend the growing season significantly without having a harmful impact on the environment. We are also committed to using recyclable packaging, all our clamshells are made with 100% post-consumer recycled plastic.

At Lakeview Hill Farm, we are committed to growing food for our local community. Everything we grow is for local restaurants, retail stores, farmers market, and our on-site farm market -- all within 12 miles of the farm!
